KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Chairperson of the Muslim Commission, Samim Miya Ansari, has called on Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Ansari, who reached Dhaka in the course of observing the general election in Bangladesh, had a meeting with Prime Minister Hasina on Monday.
At the meeting at the Prime Minister's Office, matters related to bilateral and mutual benefits were discussed, the Muslim Commission stated.
Way cleared for Ansari at Muslim Commission
Recalling 50 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Ansari during the meeting highlighted the potentials of trade and economic partnership between Nepal and Bangladesh.
He also mentioned the potential collaboration in the education sector with the rise in exchange of students between the two countries.
On the occasion, PM Hasina said Nepal-Bangladesh ties have been based on the principles of relations between good neighbors and reciprocal benefits, the Commission noted.
The commission’s Chairperson Ansari and Member Mahamadin Ali reached Dhaka to observe the general election in Bangladesh.
