KATHMANDU, Nov 8: Nepal Academy Hall in Kamaladi, Kathmandu was filled with singer Raju Lama’s fans, gathered to listen to the artist performing live with his band Mongolian Heart on Friday.

The fund raising musical event ‘Mero Nepal Mongolian Heart Live in Concert 2013’ was organized by the Raju Lama Foundation. The proceeds from the event will support the education of children studying in Yangrima Primary School located at Baruwa in Sindhupalchowk district. The foundation has been supporting the school since a long time. [break]

“The foundation was established three years ago and this is the first time we have organized a charity event,” shared Boby Lama, guitarist of the band and also the treasurer of the foundation. “We are very happy since so many people have showed up to support us,” he added.

The event started off an hour later than the scheduled time, disappointing the audience who had to wait outside the hall for such a long time. However, they were pretty excited when the program started.

Nepal’s much loved comedian Madan Krishna Shrestha was the chief guest for the event, which also saw the launching of the band’s new music album ‘Mongolian Heart Volume 6’. The music video of the song ‘Maya bhannu yestai raicha’ from the latest album was also screened. The band then went on to perform their hit numbers ‘Mero Nepal’, ‘Badal paariko desh ma’ and ‘Lakhau kosish’ among others. The audience, thrilled to watch Mongolian Heart live, also sang along and enjoyed the evening to the fullest.
