KATHMANDU, Dec 21: The police have arrested two people on the charge of murdering Narayani Timilsina, aka Apsara, six years ago.

Among those arrested are Shivaraj Adhikari from Dhading and Jagat BK from Arghakhanchi. SSP Somendra Singh Rathore said that while Shivaraj was in the Central Jail in another case, Jagat was arrested from the Tribhuvan International Airport last night while coming to Nepal from India.

According to the police, the body of Apsara, a 50-year-old woman who lived in Makwanpur and worked in Kathmandu, was found behind the Bhubaneswari Temple in Balkhu on 14th January, 2018.

During the investigation into the incident, it was revealed that 46-year-old Shivraj Adhikari of Tripurasundari-3 Tallo Pokhara, Dhading, who was involved in the murder, is in the Central Jail. He was jailed for three years in a theft case. After the complaint of the victim in July, the police started further investigation.

In that process, it was revealed that Apsara and Shivaraj had a previous acquaintance. Shivaraj told Apsara that he’d get her married to a former soldier and to bring along money and jewels. Three people including Jagat BK met at Machhapokhari, after reaching Kusunti in Lalitpur and having dinner, they reached behind a temple in Balkhu. In that process, both of them killed Apsara by striking her with stones and escaped after taking out her earrings and cash.
