SINDHULI, Jan 2: The District Court Sindhuli has convicted a 15 year old boy for the murder of a minor girl and slapped a life imprisonment sentence on him.

The single bench of District Judge Kiran Prasad Siwakoti handed down the verdict against the boy who had murdered Chhalimaya Moktan, 13, of Ahale in Marin Rural Municipality-1 in Sindhuli on 19 September, 2019 after the girl refused his sexual advances.

According to the court, the teenager was slapped 14 years 10 months of imprisonment. The boy had murdered Moktan by strangulation after taking her to a forest near her house.

The boy will be kept in a juvenile reform centre at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, till he reaches the age of 18.

Judge Siwakoti said that the accused will then be sent to jail
