MUGU, Nov 25: Despite claims that all election booths are safe for tomorrow’s elections, the District Election Office has suspected potentials of booths being captured.
Rajiman Buda, information officer at District Election Office, Mugu said that security had been stepped up to avoid any unforeseen incidents during the election. A total of 1,600 security personnel from Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and Myadi police have been deployed across the district.
CIB starts probe into Mugu incident
The Election Office suspects that election candidates could themselves instruct to capture booths that are further from the district’s headquarters. Potential unrest areas include Pina, Kotila, Topla, Murma, Bam that are close to the headquarter, Jimma, Jadepani, Jwaldhar, Nehera of Soru rural municipality and Aam, Nkaharji, Shrikot and Chimadungri of Khatyad rural municipality.
The Election Office has stepped up information collection for tomorrow, with scheduled reporting in every two hours to assess security situations and provide required security. The office has mapped areas that are highly vulnerable, vulnerable and normal for tomorrow’s election.
