Mugu journo thrashed by Maoists

NEPALGUNJ, Dec 21: Mugu´s journalist Kaviraj Karki, who is also a member of the Mugu chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, was beaten up by cadres of UCPN (Maoist) on Monday while collecting news of the second day of the general strike called by the Maoists.



Maoists snatched Karki´s camera and attacked him while he was taking pictures of Maoist cadres beating up a local Shankar Karki. According to Mugu Police, injured Karki is in critical condition.



Karki was attacked by the Maoists with stones and sticks on his head and other parts of the body. He is currently undergoing treatment at the district hospital in Mugu´s district headquarters Gumgadhi.
