MUGU, May 1: The District Election Office (DEO), Mugu has completed all the preparations required for the local level elections slated for May 14.
According to DEO, all the necessary logistics for the elections have already reached the district and the voter education program has also been concluded. The two-day training for polling officers was also completed on Sunday. Eighty-three of the 126 officers attended the training.
As informed by Rajiman Budha, District Election Officer, training session will be conducted again from May 6 for the 43 officers who missed the last training. Immediately after the training, the DEO will be distributing election materials to various polling centers in the district. The DEO is also planning to deploy election officers to their respective polling centers from May 9.
Altogether 60 polling centers have been determined for one municipality, three rural municipalities and 45 wards of the district. As much as 60 chief election officers and 60 assistant election officers will be deployed in the respective polling centers while three election officers along with three assistant election officers will be monitoring the election activities from their offices.
