MPs’ delegation embarks on China visit

KATHMANDU, Dec 18: A delegation of the members of the Federal Parliament set off for Beijing on a 10-day visit to China on Monday afternoon.

The 20-member team headed by CPN (Maoist Center) Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey left for Beijing via Chengdu from Air China.

The delegation consists of five members each from Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, three from CPN (Maoist Center) and one each from Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Janata Samajwadi Party and CPN (Unified Socialist) Party.

The parliamentarians are visiting China to participate in a program organized by the International Business Academy under the Ministry of Commerce of China. During their stay in China, the delegation is scheduled to visit Beijing, Nanjing, and Jiang cities.

The team includes Yubraj Sharma, Ramnath Adhikari, Ain Bahadur Shahi, Saraswati Bajimay and Kusum Devi Thapa from Nepali Congress, Damodar Bairagi, Manbir Rai, Nirmala Koirala, Rukmini Rana Baraili and Bhagwati Neupane from CPN (Maoist Center) along with Chief Whip Pandey from CPN (Maoist Centre) and Jag Prasad Sharma and Narayani Sharma.

Chief Whip Santosh Pariyar from Rastriya Swatantra Party, Anisha Nepali from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Prakash Adhikari from Janata Samajwadi Party and Metmani Chaudhary, Chief Whip of CPN (Unified Socialist) Party, are also part of the delegation.

Secretary of Federal Parliament Secretariat Sudarshan Khadka, Speaker's Press Adviser Shekhar Adhikari and Section Officer Jeevan Niraula are participating in the visiting team.

After completing the 10-day visit, the parliamentary team will return to Kathmandu on December 30.
