KATHMANDU, June 30: Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar said that some members of parliament (MPs) have been observed taking a nap during parliamentary sessions.
During an event organized to celebrate the 66th Parliament Day at the Federal Parliament Building on Sunday, Deputy Speaker Rana said that she has seen MPs snoring and dozing off during meetings.
"While taking photos in parliament is prohibited, some honorable members are sleeping soundly," she said. "I have witnessed many dozing off and even recorded some instances."
Rana also voiced her concern over the inadequate budget allocated to the Ministry of Women, noting it is less than that of a single project.
