KATHMANDU, June 3: The Nepali Congress (NC) has urged Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to pave the way for the formation of a new government. The NC Central Work Performance Committee meeting held on Wednesday has officially made this request to PM Dahal.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting at NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha, NC Spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said, “The prime minister should pave the way after the largest parties NC and UML said that they would form a new government together. This is also included in the decision. Other parties, too, are supporting the new NC-UML alliance. So, the NC CWC has requested the prime minister to pave the way.”

Spokesman Mahat claims that a new government will be formed through the constitutional process if the prime minister does not pave the way for the formation of a new government.
Earlier, the CPN-UML secretariat meeting held on Tuesday also called on PM Dahal to pave the way.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the CPN (Maoist Center) on Tuesday decided that the Prime Minister will not resign and would rather face a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives.
