Motorcyclist missing in Dhobikhola not traced

KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Police were unable on Tuesday to locate a motorcyclist who fell into Dhobikhola River at Bijulibazaar on Monday evening. Despite using kayaks, police were unable to find Sundar Regmi of Makwanpur district.



Regmi, 33, who was traveling on his motorcycle (Ba 2 Pa 3178) from Bijulibazaar to his rented quarters at Babarmahal  fell into the river at 7:10 pm Monday while trying to ride clear of puddles on the road and also give way to a vehicle coming from the opposite direction.[break]

 

While Regmi fell into the river, his motorcycle was found on the road.



According to an eyewitness, Regmi had tried to hold on to a tuft of grass to keep from falling into the river, but the tuft did not hold for long. Thereafter, he was swept away by the river.



Regmi, who is from Makwanpur´s Sisneri village, had been living in Kathmadu for the past 12 years with his wife, children and parents.
