MORANG, Nov 29: Rajendra Prasad Urau, 35, of Katahari Rural Municipality-5 has died on Sunday night while undergoing treatment after being beaten by his own mother, according to the District Police Office, Morang.
Morang Police Spokesperson DSP Deepak Shrestha said that the incident took place after Rajendra, who had come under the influence of alcohol, started arguing at home last Saturday night. According to him, he was beaten to death by his mother Batiyo Urau with a stick after he started arguing with her.
Mother and son killed in Udayapur
Rajendra, who was injured due to the beating, was admitted to Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar on Saturday night. After the treatment at Koshi Hospital, Rajendra was taken back to home by his family members.
After the police got the information about the incident, the police team took Rajendra to the Nobel Teaching Hospital for treatment again on Sunday night. DSP Shrestha said that he died at 10:15 PM on Sunday night while undergoing treatment at Nobel Hospital.
The mother was arrested in connection with the incident. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway, police said.
