Danish striker for NRT Shayan Mosavi scored the fastest goal of the ongoing league and also became the first player to score a first half hat-trick in the league. He scored the first goal in 45 second, added another in the 13th minute and completed his hat-trick in the 38th minute. Ranjit Shrestha scored the other goal for NRT in the 10th minute. [break]
Mosavi also became the third player to complete a hat-trick after Yogesh Shrestha of Jawalakhel Youth Club and Santosh Sahukhala of Three Star Club. Shrestha had scored three goals against Armed Police Force on March 9 and Sahukhala had scored four goals against Friends Club on March 18.
Mosavi also registered him name in the list of highest scorers with six goals to his name, a step behind leading goal scorer Sahukhala who has nine goals under his belt.
With the win, NRT with 20 points closed the gap on leaders Nepal Police Club, who have a point more after the completion of the ninth match of the first leg, pushing Three Star to third from the second spot.
Mosavi chipped over the advancing goalie of Jawalakhel Bikram Gurung to open their scoring utilizing a defensive error of opponents. He netted another in the 13th minute in an empty post utilizing a rebounder from Nirajan Rayamajhi´s shot that hit the pole while goalie Gurung was not in proper position. He scored his hat-trick in the 38th minute beating goalie Gurung in a pass set by Rayamajhi. Earlier, Ranjit Shrestha had scored the second goal through a brilliant 20-yard strike again in a pass of Rayamajhi.
Jawalakhel, trailing by three goals inside 13 minutes, valiantly attempted to make a comeback but remained short of a goal. Substitute Raj Paudel scored twice and Bikram Lama added the third goal, but all in vain.
Paudel, a replacement of Doran Sherchan, scored the first goal for Jawalakhel in the 34th minute, a minute after his entry in the ground, and netted another in the injury time of the first half. Paudel pushed the ball with his chest from near the goal-line after NRT custodian Surendra Shrestha failed to collect a cross of Hem Gurung. He added another through a close range header out of a scuffle. Lama scored their third in the 60th minute through a diving header in a corner of Yogesh Shrestha.
Jawalakhel were reduced to 10 men in the 83rd minute after Sunil Raut was sent off by referee Sudish Pandey for a second yellow card after he played foul on Rayamajhi. He was shown the first card four minutes earlier.
RCT beat Sankata 1-0
In another match of the day, Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) had a narrow 1-0 win over relegation threatened Sankata Kathmandu Mall Club. Buddha Lama scored the lone goal in the 49th minute through header in a cross supplied by Deepak Rai.
With the win, RCT retained eighth position with 11 points while Jawalakhel are in the relegation zone with only six points.
Sankata could make only one impressive post attack in a drab first half of the match. RCT too could make only a couple of post attacks in the first half. But in the second half, they intensified their attacks and made as many as half-a-dozen post attacks.
