The Damak-Birtamode section of the East-West Highway has been obstructed at Lakhanpur-1 after a culvert over Geuriya river caved in due to flood. The vehicles plying on the highway are currently using the gravel road of Chulachuli in southern Illam.

Likewise, the Rising bridge along Kakarbhitta-Bahundangi road has also caved in forcing the administration to stop vehicular movement over it.

Jhapa Red Cross said 15 families of Topgachhi have been displaced and are taking shelter in a private school. Likewise, more than 500 families in Ghailadubba VDC are under threat after Biring river started eroding the embankments.

Meanwhile, around 500 families in Biratnagar and surrounding area have been displaced after flood in Singhiya river entered into human settlements following 170 mm rainfall in the past 24 hours. Flood in Lohandra river has disrupted Biratnagar-Rangeli road while two houses in Kaseni have been swept away.

Road connection to the eastern part of Palpa has been disrupted due to landslides at several points along Tansen-Rampur road.

District headquarters and several villages of Bhojpur have lost power supply since Tuesday night after flood destroyed the foundation of Tyamke Hydroelectricity Project.

Hundreds of passengers have been stranded as no flights have take-off from airports in the Mid West and Far West regions due to floods.

Meanwhile, locals of 11 VDCs in Rajapur area of Bardiya have come under threat after Karnali river changed its course and directed toward human settlements.

Locals claim the river changed its course after India closed Kailashpur barrage on its soil and returned the water toward Nepal in September putting around 3,000 households in the area at risk.
