BAITADI, July 24: Monsoon-induced floods have wreaked havoc in the Simar village, leaving as many as 22 families at risk in the district. 


Simara locals have been terrorized after the swollen rivulets changed its course and entered into the human settlements in lower Chhepatta and Kholasimar.

“The flash floods destroyed our paddy crops and we had to flee to escape the deadly floods. The floods entered the human settlements the drainage system was blocked,” said Arjun Rana, a local.


The landslides have caused mayhem in the village partly due to tracks opened by dozers.


Gokuleshwar, Rudreshwar, Malladehi of Purchaudi Municipality and Bishalpur of Melauli Municipality, Sittad of Dogadakedar rural municipality have been affected by the floods.
