Monologue!

At times when I feel lonely,
I close my eyes and think of something lovely,
I don’t know who I’m missing,
I wonder what I’m wishing.

I ask myself why I can’t have fun,
They say there are many things I need to learn,
All of my friends are gone, gone,
Will they return like the early rising sun rays?
Will they surround me like in the bygone days?
Yet, the question rises in my mind—when, when, and when?
Why I should not worry about tomorrow,
My friends coax me into believing there’s no end to sorrow.
I try to keep myself truthful and bold,
I firmly believe that honesty weighs more than gold,
And stick to only what’s right,
I don’t know any goals that make my future bright.

Why am I not in touch with those friends who care about me?
But waste my time just looking at a tree when I’m free.
I’m a good person in my heart,
Tell me, tell me who will always shine?
Is it the one who admits that union and separation are our life’s part?
Tell me, tell me who will always shine?
Neither the one who does visit a shrine,
Nor the one who does drink wine,
But the one who is always doing fine!
