MoF team at Chepang community

CHITWAN (Ratnanagar), Sept. 3: A team from the Ministry of Forest (MoF) has reached Siddika VDC of Chitwan on Monday to identify the real problems of the Chepang people as per the direction of Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai.



PM Bhattarai, after visiting the Chepang village three weeks back, directed the local bodies to identify the problems of the Chepangs and make necessary arrangements accordingly.



District Forest Officer at Chitwan, Dr Indra Prasad Sapkota, said the team reached the Chepang village at Siddika on Monday to garner information about the problems the Chepangs are facing.



The team would study the farming in Chepang village, management of fallow lands, and hold discussion about income.



With the study team the Chepangs have demanded employment, and the fallow lands, forest and waters for their use.
