More than 30,000 people are said to commute Itahari chowk daily, therefore, the mobile latrine has been kept there for the convenience of the commuters, said the municipality.[break]
The Itahari Municipality, the District Development Committee Office, Lumanti Itahari and SIM-N project have jointly invested for the construction of the latrine.
The toilet was constructed at a total cost of Rs. 1.1 million, said Ganesh Raj Karki, Executive Chief of the municipality.
This type of mobile latrine is first of its kind in east Nepal, said the municipality.
