As neither media nor the administration was notified about the event, Tansen locals were shocked when they saw the news on social media. Chief district Officer of Palpa, Tanka Prasad Pandey, stated that the program had been held without notifying the District Administrative Office.  He said, “Though a few had come here and said they were going to organize a program, we had not issued permission to do so. We haven’t received any written notification regarding the program.”

A participant, Subechya Shrestha, said she had found out about the competition through social networking sites. She said, “I got to learn a lot through this competition. After filling up the form and being selected, we still had to go through several auditions.”

Coordinator of the event, Bibek Ballal, clarified that they had missed to invite the media thinking the media persons would be busy at other events. He said, “Though we wanted to float the information, we held back because reporters in the district were busy due to the local level elections.” He added that the program aimed at developing the capabilities of teenage girls in the district.
