ROLPA, Feb 25: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Barshaman Pun has contributed Rs 500,000 to a student stipend fund set up at the Balkalyan Namuna Secondary School at Libang, the district headquarters.
The school is Minister Pun's alma mater. The stipend fund is set up by the forum of former students of the school. The revolving fund is going to be of Rs 10 million.
Minister Pun expressed his happiness to have the opportunity to contribute to the scholarship fund at his former school. He said he had his secondary level education at this school since 2042 BS.
He believed that the students from poor economic families, the conflict-affected students and disabled students who are meritorious would be benefited from the stipend.
The Minister also appreciated the role played by the former students of the school in upgrading the school. He pledged every type of support from his side to develop the school into one of the model schools of the country, stating that he was vigorously working to establish a quality technical school in the district.
