Minister Paudel encourages use of EVs

KATHMANDU, April 22: Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Devendra Paudel has spoken of the need to increase the use of electric vehicles (EVs) to reduce air pollution.

KATHMANDU, April 22: Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Devendra Paudel has spoken of the need to increase the use of electric vehicles (EVs) to reduce air pollution. 



At an interaction organized here today on the EV, Minister Paudel also underscored the use of EV, stating that the skyrocketing price of petrol had led Nepal to spend a hefty amount of Foreign currency annually and that the rising global consumption of petroleum products had led to risk of depletion of such natural resources.

The Education, Science and Technology Minister stressed green development by mitigating negative impacts caused by petroleum products-fueled transport sectors on the environment and the country's economy as the country annually spends huge amount of money to import fossil fuel.


Stating that his ministry was supportive to research, the minister expressed his concern over the rising air pollution and urged researchers to conduct researches on the ways to reduce environmental pollution.
