KATHMANDU, Nov 29: Minister for Urban Development Ram Kumari Jhakri has stressed the need for ancestors to pass on their skills and knowledge to the next generation.

Minister Jhankri said that she was always in favor of the culture of handing over skills and knowledge acquired by one generation to another since she joined student politics. Emphasizing that the government should build safe housing for citizens of all areas at an event organized by the United Nations Development Programme and Indian Embassy in Kathmandu on Monday, Jhankri said that her Ministry is currently working on the project.

The reconstruction of the private houses damaged in the 2015 earthquake has reached its final stage, she said. Samples of engineered and non-engineered houses were put on a display at the program to check their earthquake-resistant capacity.
