Micro hydropower project in Rolpa completed

ROLPA, May 18: The construction of Rigaikhola micro hydropower with the capacity of 5.5 KW has been completed in Mirul VDC of Rolpa.



The hydropower project is completed at the total cost around Rs. 2.996 million, which includes assistance of Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC), Livelihood Forest Programme (LFP), Rolpa, various VDCs, Local Development Fund as well as kind labor. [break]



Some 60 households have been benefited from the hydropower. Locals have been happy to use electricity in their village for the first time.



At a time when the country is bearing the brunt of daily load-shedding, Rolpa has witnessed a series of projects to generate electricity.
