KATHMANDU, Sept 30: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed his dissatisfaction against lack of publicity of good works carried out by the government.

Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of residence for provincial chiefs and chief ministers at Bhaisepati of Lalitpur on Monday, PM Oli claimed that the tendency of disseminating false information toward people, spreading pessimism and misleading the public has emerged in the country in the recent times.

“Although the government has expedited development activities, I feel sorry to say that such works are rarely talked about,” he grumbled.

According to Oli, creating irrelevant issue has been customary only to criticize the government. “However, we are heading one step ahead every new day, added he.

On the occasion, he also vowed to complete construction of the much-awaited Melamchi Drinking Water project in less than a year. He also clarified that the project has been delayed as the project contractor ran away breaching its prior agreement.

Prime Minister Oli also urged one and all to inform the government if they find any citizen languishing on the streets. The government is preparing to declare Nepal as a beggar-free nation soon, according to him.

"The government felt the necessity of building residences for the provincial chief ministers in Kathmandu as they should regularly be in touch with the federal government. These buildings will also function as their liaison offices, not just their residences. We are soon constructing residences for the ministers of the federal cabinet as well.”

The government has also planned to build state guest houses, conference halls and residences for the provincial lawmakers within the current fiscal year.

PM Oli earlier had laid the foundation stone of the building of Federal Parliament and PM Residence at Baluwatar.
