KATHMANDU, Sept 12: Fatima Sumar, the vice president of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and her team is leaving Nepal today.
Sumar had arrived in Kathmandu to understand the latest status of the project as the 500 million dollar grant project has not been approved by Nepal’s parliament yet.
During her four-day visit, she paid visits to top leaders of prominent political parties including Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. A team led by Sumar has requested the Nepali politicians to endorse the compact through parliament.
Meanwhile, there are disputes among the ruling coalition regarding the endorsement of the MCC agreement through parliament.
