KATHMANDU, Sept 10: Vice President of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Fatima Sumar, who is on a four-day visit to Nepal, has intensified meetings with top leaders of various political parties.
Sumar reached Khumaltar on Friday morning to meet CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Sources said Sumar discussed in detail about the MCC agreement and clarified some of the provisions in the MCC agreement deemed controversial in Nepal.
On Thursday, Sumar also met Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal, Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Chairman Upendra Yadav and the party’s Federal Council Chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai. She also held a meeting with CPN-UML Chairman K P Oli.
Vice President Sumar is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Finance Minister Janardan Sharma later today.
