Chairman Nepal also added that he has been discussing the content of the MCC compact agreement and any issues deemed controversial in the compact will be amended.

“We are discussing the contents of the MCC, its weaknesses and the provisions that need to be amended. A committee of three leaders has been formed to study the MCC after which discussion regarding its ratification will move forward,” Chairman Nepal said.

“Let the MCC project be a matter of pure financial support and not linked with any strategic issues or Nepal's sovereignty. It should not affect our relationship with the neighboring countries. We will move forward by ensuring that the interests of the country are protected after reaching consensus through discussions among five coalition partners,” he added.
