BIRATNAGAR, June 18: The top parties have tied-up alliance among themselves in Biratnagar metropolis for upcoming second phase of local level elections.
The ruling alliance CPN (Maoist-Center) and Upendra Yadav-led Federal Socialist Forum Nepal have forged alliance in four local units. The alliance has field the nomination of Umesh Yadav of FSFN for the post of mayor and Namita Neupane of MC for the deputy-mayor.
Earlier, the CPN-UML and Bijay Kumar Gachhadar-led Madheshi People Right Democratic Forum (MPRDF) had made alliance on Saturday for the post of mayor and deputy-mayor. The alliance had chosen Binod Dhakal of UML as the mayoral candidate and Suchi Chowdhary of (MPRDF) as the deputy mayor.
However, the alliance between two parties has created dissatisfaction among the local party cadres. The Nepali Congress (NC) is seeking the sole participation in the election.
There are around one hundred 12 thousand voters in the metropolis.
