Enraged locals protest delayed reparation of Bouddha-Jorpati road section

The Boudha Trade Association and the local residents of Boudha obstructed the Chabahil-Sankhu road section, in protest against the delay in the blacktopping of the under-construction road. Expansion work of the 11.46-kilometer road began in October 2015 but the contractors have been delaying the work under various pretext. Almost four years later, the road still remains incomplete. 

PM leaves for Vietnam, Cambodia

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has left for the visits of Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Kingdom of Cambodia on Thursday. PM Oli is visiting Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and visiting Cambodia at the invitation of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdeh Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.

Five tons of garbage collected from Mount Everest

Around five tons of garbage has been collected from Mount Everest during a clean-up campaign launched by the Nepalese authorities with the help of the army since mid-April. Climbers making their way to Mount Everest have left trash over the years and converted the Himalayan peak and the slopes leading to it into the "world's highest dumping ground".

156 people get land certificate in Butwal

Butwal sub-metropolis has distributed land ownership certificates to 156 people of Motipur area. Handing over the land ownership certificates to the senior-most recipient Tankanath Gyawali and Sodhabati Tharu of Butwal-17, mayor Shiva Raj Subedi pledged to distribute land ownership certificates to the landless by coming mid-July.

Royal baby Archie: Prince Harry and Meghan name their 'bundle of joy'

Britain’s Prince Harry and his wife Meghan announced on Wednesday they had named their newborn son Archie as they showed him off to the world, saying their “little bundle of joy” was magic. The announcement came hours after the new royal got his first taste of life in the limelight as Meghan and Harry appeared with him before a small group of media at St George’s Hall in Windsor castle where they held their wedding reception just under a year ago.

Liverpool to lift replica if they win Premier League

If Liverpool upset the odds and pip Manchester City to the Premier League title on Sunday, the silver trophy they lift for the first time will not be the original but a replica. The replica is used by the Premier League and often on display in television studios and on promotional tours.
