KATHMANDU, July 24: To reach a conclusion with the ongoing protest of Dr. Govinda KC, Kedar Bhakta Mathema and Dharma Kanta Baskota, chairperson of Nepal Medical Council have reached Baluwatar. Mathema is the coordinator of the Mathema working committee that drafted a report on medical education, which KC has backed.
Dr. KC has been on his 15th hunger strike for the past 25 days, the longest of all his protests demanding the government to present the Medical Education Ordinance as it is.
Minister Baskota says he cares about freedom of press. Really?
Senior leaders of Nepal Communist Party are also at the meeting.
The Nepali Congress has been obstructing parliament until the government fulfilled KC’s demands. Meanwhile, the NCP has accused Nepali Congress of politicizing the issue.
