‘Chauka Dau’ is related to life Shambhujit Baskota

KATHMANDU, Dec 18: Veteran musician, Shambhujit Baskota has been working in musical field from the past 42 years. He has produced almost 300 songs till date. Baskota is debuting as a producer through ‘Chauka Dau’. The film is scheduled to release on January 11.

KATHMANDU, Dec 18: Veteran musician, Shambhujit Baskota has been working in musical field from the past 42 years. He has produced almost 300 songs till date. Baskota is debuting as a producer through ‘Chauka Dau’. The film is scheduled to release on January 11.


Speaking at the trailer launch program of the film in Kathmandu, Baskota related the film with human life. He said, “Chauka Dau’ is connected with human life. We have presented a serious topic with a flavor of comedy.” He added, “The film shows the story of an adult man and will reveal the audience with their past.”

Making a comeback after 20 years, actor Taiyab Shah claimed that the film has provided a new energy in his life. “I stepped into acting through dance. That’s why acting is like a drug for me which runs in my veins.” He added, “Thanks, Shambhujit Baskota for recreating that energy in me.” Director of the film,  Purnendu Jha stated that the film has helped to hone his skill.


“The film is entertaining and worth the money.”  Trailer of the film features five lead characters of the film, including Rabindra Jha, Wilson Bikram Rai, Taiyab Shah, Santosh Panta and Barsha Raut. Along with these characters the film features various prominent artist of Nepali Film Industry including Nirmal Shah, Sonika KC, Sunita Shrestha Thakur, Roshani Sapkota and Shyam Rai.


Abhimanyu Narabi has written the script of the film. Cinematography and editing is done by Dirgha Gurung and Mitradev Gurung respectively.
