Match cancellation boosts Nepal's chances in ICC T20 World Cup

KATHMANDU, June 12: The much-anticipated ICC T20 World Cup cricket match between Nepal and Sri Lanka was called off due to persistent rain today at the Broward County Ground in Florida. Originally scheduled for a 5:15 AM start, the match faced continuous downpours leading to a cancellation, with both teams being awarded one point each.

This rain-induced draw brings Nepal to a total of one point from two matches, mirroring Sri Lanka’s tally from three games. Despite the disappointing washout, the unexpected turn of events has opened up a potential pathway for Nepal to advance to the next phase of the tournament.
