BIRATNAGAR, Feb 15: Biratnagar Metropolitan City has put its all-out efforts to materialize a campaign to build the palace of King Birat, who is said to have ruled Biratnagar in the ancient times. The city itself is said to have been named after him.
In this connection, the metropolis has sought cooperation from the Department of Archaeology (DoA) and has held a series of meetings with the DoA officials and other stakeholders concerned.
82 per cent work under Lumbini Master Plan completed
The metropolis on Sunday collected suggestions and feedback from the office-bearers of the department and local experts to materialize its plan.
Various religious and intellectual people provided their inputs to the master plan charted out by the archaeological experts, said officials at the Biratnagar Metropolitan Office.
Mayor Bhim Parajuli shared that the metropolis has put forward its plan to conserve the palace of King Birat and also develop archeologically important sites in the metropolis.
