KATHMANDU, July 13: The main opposition party Unified CPN (Maoist) asked the ruling allies--Nepali Congress and CPN UML--to come up with the basic requirements for the formation of national consensus government.

Speaking with reporters at the parliamentary party (PP) office of the party on Tuesday, Maoist Deputy PP leader Narayankaji Shrestha asked the ruling allies to come up with ideas, categorically and formally, that are required for the formation of the consensus government. [break]

Shrestha also said that his party had already made the formal request with Nepali Congress PP leader Ram Chandra Paudel and UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal regarding the issue.

The proposal of the Maoists on national consensus government was rejected by the ruling allies earlier.

Shrestha asked the ruling allies to come up with the fresh ideas so that they could make change on his party´s earlier proposal.

We can discuss the points that we, parties, are differing on, Shrestha added.
