Pandey had reached there after inaugurating a function organized by local entrepreneurs at Mahendrapul. Police faced tough times giving security to him.
In the beginning the Maoists waved black flags and shouted slogans against the government, but later they reached Pandey´s vehicle and punched the vehicle, besides pelting stones.
Pandey was heading to inaugurate Golden News daily to be published from Pokhara. Pandey returned to Kathmandu without attending the function.
