BANEPA , Oct 9: The UCPN (Maoist) has set up check points along the Araniko Highway in a bid to check misuse of government vehicles during Dashain festival.

Issuing a notice in a local vernacular, the Maoists have said they would conduct checking at the two places -- Paanchkhal and Tinpiple VDC in Kavre -- during Dashain holidays.[break]

They have also warned that the government vehicles plying the highway without permission from concerned authority would be seized and handed over to the district administration office.

“There is a growing tendency among government officials to misuse office vehicles to visit Palanchowk temple and Dolalghat during holidays,” said Maoist Panchkhal Village Secretary Hari Prasad Dulal.
