CPN (Maoist) chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal met with UML’s former general secretary Madhav Nepal early Wednesday morning, and expressed worries Nepali Congress’ recent initiatives to hold discussions with other parties could lead to the collapse of the present coalition.
According to Nepal, the prime minister stressed the need for emboldening ties between the two parties to avert possible NC moves to topple the government. “I told him (PM) that the Maoists have created a state of mistrust among the parties by declining frequently the agreements and pacts signed in the past,” Nepal said.
Main opposition, NC, is also meeting with the UML leaders at the latter’s’ office in Balkhu this afternoon. NC leaders have said they would solicit support for their nine-point demands and exert collective pressure on the Maoists to implement past agreements.
