KATHMANDU, Sept 12: With the local level elections round the corner in Province No 2, the Nepali Congress has intensified its campaign to woo the voters.
The NC has argued that it would secure 100 out of 136 levels in the Province, according to party leader and Minister for Agriculture Development, Ram Krishna Yadav. He further said the top leaders of the party have arrived here to create the election atmosphere favourable for the party.
Booze, cash, chicken to woo voters
Party President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ramchandra Poudel and General Secretary Dr Sashank Koirala and others have begun addressing the election gatherings and cadres' meet in almost all districts.
They are also attending the door-to-door election campaigns.
Meanwhile, other political parties as CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN-UML and the Madhes-based ones- Rastriya Janata Party Nepal, Nepal Loktantrik Forum, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, have accelerated the electioneering to woo the votes.
The 136 local levels in province No 2 have 36,318 candidates for the posts of 6,600 people's representatives.
The districts in the Province No 2 housing a metropolis, three sub metropolises, 73 municipalities and 59 rural municipalities are - Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara and Parsa. RSS
