Newa State Committee chief Hitman Shakya handed over the collected amount to coordinator of the Integrated Public Health Campaign, Giriraj Mani Pokharel amidst a function in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
According to Shakya, the amount was collected during the committee´s four-day long donation campaign which began on August 24. He said the committee also collected 306 quintals of rice, medicines and clothes for the people in the region.
Speaking at the function, Pokharel claimed that hundreds of people lost their lives to diarrhea due to government´s negligence.
