Health and Population Minister Pradip Paudel initiated the formation of this expert committee to gather necessary data and recommendations to reduce the shortage of health supplies and ensure the proper utilization of purchased supplies.

The Task Force has been instructed to conduct a detailed study on the distribution process, current inventory status, and future distribution plans of health equipment and supplies purchased by the Ministry and the Department of Health Services over the past three years.

Additionally, the Task Force will collect details about the materials received as grants from various donor agencies by the MoHP and the Department of Health Services over the past three years, including the distribution status of those materials and their current inventory status.

The MoHP expects the Task Force to gather detailed information and provide insights into the actual status of existing health supplies. It is also expected to play a significant role in ensuring greater transparency and accountability within the health service system.

“The Task Force will provide recommendations to the MoHP based on the findings of its research, which will help make the procurement, distribution, and management processes of health supplies more efficient, transparent, and accountable,” said MoHP Spokesperson Prakash Budhathoki. He expressed confidence that the Task Force will help make the procurement process in the health sector more organized.
