KATHMANDU, May 10:  The main opposition UCPN (Maoist) lawmakers boycotted parliament meeting on Monday.

Addressing the meeting, Maoist leader Amik Scherchan said they boycotted the meeting to protest against the government for "brutally suppressing Maoists during the recently-concluded general strike called by the party".[break]

He demanded that the Home Minister answer on the issues being raised by them in the parliament.
