Maoist to rally for sacking of army chief

KATHMANDU, April 21: Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) is organizing demonstration in the capital on Tuesday against those who are against the government´s decision to seek clarification from chief of army staff Rookmangud Katawal.



According to Jhakku Prasad Subedi, deputy in-charge of Maoist´s Newa State, the demonstration is also to pressure the government to sack army chief Katawal.

The program is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Ratna Park.


"Our leaders will address the mass meeting," Subedi said.


A meeting of Maoist secretariat Tuesday morning also decided to organize similar demonstration across the country on Wednesday.
