Maoist lawmakers boycott meeting as PAC starts probing into Maoist govt´s spending

KATHMANDU, May 18: Maoist members in the parliamentary Public Account Committee (PAC) boycotted committee’s meeting Monday as the PAC started probing into alleged irregularity of the Maoist-led government.

When other party members insisted on investigating in spending of Rs 7 billion by the government without parliament’s approval, the Maoist members protested against the move and walked out. It is perhaps first case of the ruling party lawmakers boycotting the committee meeting in defense of their party-led government.
