Maoist Center decides to quit Koshi province govt, recall ministers today

BIRATNAGAR, June 6: The ruling CPN (Maoist Center) has decided to withdraw its support to the Koshi province government.


An office bearers' meeting of the Maoist Center's Provincial Committee and the Parliamentary Party meeting of Koshi Province Assembly held on Tuesday decided to withdraw the support given to the UML-led government.

According to Maoist Center Province Assembly member Ganesh Upreti, the meeting of the provincial parliamentary party decided to withdraw the support given to the government led by Hikmat Kumar Karki as per the instruction given by the party's provincial committee.  The meeting decided to recall the ministers from the government on Tuesday itself.  


Upreti said that the decision made by the parliamentary party meeting will be informed in the Provincial Assembly meeting on Tuesday.


Earlier, the meeting of the Maoist Center Parliamentary Party held on Monday had formed a committee under the leadership of the PP leader Indra Bahadur Angbo to take initiative for the formation of government under the leadership of the Maoist Center.


The Koshi province government has fallen into a minority after the Maoist Center withdrew its support to the government.
