An SMS circulated among the party establishment faction leaders was also deliberately forwarded to CC members close to Senior Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya, asking them to participate in the CC meeting at Paris Danda. The Baidya faction leaders, however, were not informed about the postponement of the CC meeting.
“I don´t know why they sent me a text message asking to participate in the meeting called by the establishment faction. But they did not inform me about the postponement of the meeting,” said CC member Santosh Budha Magar, who is close to the Baidya faction.
As per the party statute, the party´s general secretary is supposed to call the CC meeting. As General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa belongs to the Baidya faction, the CC meeting was informally called by the establishment faction leaders.
Talking to Republica, party spokesperson Dinanath Sharma informed that the meeting had to be postponed as party leaders are busy negotiating on contentious issues of constitution writing. The last CC meeting of the establishment faction held in the third week of March had termed the Baidya faction as ´dogmatist.´
