Maoist CC meet pass Dahal's paper

KATHMANDU, July 30: After a three-week-long delay, the ongoing central committee meeting of the UCPN (Maoist) has passed the political document of party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.



The political document however underwent considerable amendment after the hardliners in the party demanded that Dahal adopt a people´s revolt as the party´s future course of action.



Dahal has not put the term "people´s revolt" in the document.



In the political document, Dahal has floated a national unity government to take the peace process to its logical end and launch agitation in the streets and in the parliament to realize this.



According to a politburo member, the document also proposes that the party form a political front with the radical and nationalist forces from other political parties including the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML for the sake of civilian supremacy, national independence and national unity government.
