NEA postpones release of white paper

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has postponed the release of its white paper indefinitely. The authority had planned to issue the white paper to present the work done and the financial status during the tenure of the dismissed managing director, Kulman Ghising. However, sources from the authority have confirmed the postponement for now.

KATHMANDU, April 29: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has postponed the release of its white paper indefinitely. The authority had planned to issue the white paper to present the work done and the financial status during the tenure of the dismissed managing director, Kulman Ghising. However, sources from the authority have confirmed the postponement for now.


The NEA has informed the staff that it has postponed the managing director's white paper release program until further notice due to technical reasons.

Since Kulman Ghising's dismissal and the appointment of the new executive director, Hitendra Dev Shakya, he has publicly stated at various events that the authority's financial situation is complex.


Sources have revealed that the white paper lists the NEA's payment liability of Rs 11.61 billion in mid-March in the current fiscal year.
