The accident occurred when the overspeeding jeep (WB 58 P 5064) hit a tree on the roadside after its brakes failed.
Three others including Mukti’s father Vidyananda Jha were also injured in the accident.
Mukti has received serious injuries to his head and right arm while his father was slightly injured. Both have been taken to Patna in India for treatment. The other two injured – Dilip Sah and Nasib Rain – are being treated at Janakpur Zonal Hospital.
Mukti had kept the vehicle for personal use.
