KATHMANDU, Nov 12: Former Gandaki Province minister Rajiv Gurung aka Deepak Manange, who was arrested on Tuesday morning from the Sano Bharyang area in Kathmandu, has been sent to Dillibazar Jail in Kathmandu.


On Tuesday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) presented Manange to the Kathmandu District Court for the execution of the verdict against him in an attempted murder case. Following that, the court sent him to the Dillibazar Central Jail. Manange was recently convicted of attempted murder by the Supreme Court.

In the year 2061, a case of attempted murder was filed against Manange for attacking Milan Gurung aka Chakre with a sharp weapon. 


On November 5, the SC upheld the earlier decision of the Patan High Court in the case of Manange. The Patan High Court had previously sentenced Manange to five years in prison. The Supreme Court also upheld the sentence of five years imprisonment.


Manage has already served a part of the sentence, spending over two years in custody, with only 26 months of the sentences remaining now.
