KATHMANDU, August 5: The Gangapurna Lake in Manang has now almost disappeared after being buried by landslides and floods.
Located In Ishang Rural Municipality-6 of the district, the lake is considered the jewel of Manang which is visited by almost every trekker trekking along the Annapurna Circuit.
Floods and landslides that occurred earlier in June buried the lake and it has almost vanished now, according to Binod Gurung, chairman of the Tourism Management Committee of Manang.
The lake is located at an altitude of 3,540 meters from sea level.
